Shipping Charge Rules - Here you set advanced shipping charge rules for combined invoices as well as a discount shipping charge based on the subtotal for the entire sale. None of the rules are applied unless you have the "Apply Rules" checkbox checked.

*Shipping charge rules are applied when the invoice screen is opened. If the invoice already has an invoice number that means it has already been processed and so the shipping charge rules are not applied.

To access the Shipping Charge Rules Setup screen go to the AuctionSage File Menu and select Setup and then Default Charges.

On the Default charges screen click the button to "Set Combined Shipping Rules"

Rule One - Combined Invoices

This rule is applied only if there are 2 or more separate items in the invoice and is applied as follows:

If you have an amount entered for "Charge for 1st Item" it is applied to the first item in the invoice. The rest of the items in the invoice have whatever you entered as the charge for "Additional Items" applied.

If you have nothing entered for "Charge for 1st Item" but you do have a charge for additional items entered the following procedure is implemented: AuctionSage will look at all items in the invoice and find the one which currently has the highest shipping charge and use that as the "Charge for 1st Item" and then apply the "additional charge" to all the other items in the invoice.

With the above setting, if there were 10 items in the invoice the total shipping charge would be $11.50

Rule Two - All Invoices

This rule is applied regardless of whether there are 2 or more items in the invoice. This rule is based on the SubTotal for the invoice and applies a fixed shipping charge based on the subtotal.

In the example setting depicted here, if the SubTotal for the invoice is $50.00 or more the total shipping charge for the entire invoice is $2.00.

Rule Two overrides rule one.
