Status Folder Editor - The Status Folder Editor allows you to add/remove status folders and assign an icon to the folder. By default AuctionSage comes with several status folders. Two of these cannot be removed, "Current & Recent" and "Completed". That is because these folders have special functions in the program, ie: Current & Recent folder is used when refreshing data.

To bring up the Status Folder editor screen go to the Edit menu and select "Status Folders (add/remove)". You will see the Status Folder Editor screen depicted to the right.

To Add a Status Folder

  • Click Add Satus
  • Enter Name of Status
  • Answer Yes to Add Status
  • Select Icon for Status
  • Answer Yes to Apply Changes

The status folder will be added and you will see it appear under the "Auction Data" branch of the treeview control.

To Delete a Status Folder

  • Select Status folder to delete
  • Click the Delete button
  • Confirm that you wish to delete the status folder
  • You will be notified if there is data associated with that status folder

As a safety measure, AuctionSage doesn't delete any data folders when deleting a status. This way, should you make a mistake and delete a status folder by accident, just add it back and the data will reappear.

Once a status folder has been created it can be assigned to a formletter. When you send a formletter with a status assigned the items you are sending the formletter for are updated to that status assigned and moved to that status folder (unless you have "Keep Data in Same Folder" checked).

The purpose of status folders is to organize your data by status allowing you to be more efficient and productive. Remember, the data view for each status folder can be rearranged (rearrange column order, hide columns, etc) so that for each status you instantly see the most pertinent information at a glance. For instance, for Payment Received Status you might want to see the status date at glance so for the payment received status folder you can drag the status date column all the way to the left side. Now you can instantly see what date you were paid for items in the Payment Received folder.
